A Fruitful Walk in the Rain
Today was a rainy and blustery day in London-town, but the weather was a bit warmer than expected so I got outside as much as possible despite the spitting rain and merry little breezes. I took a walk downtown to the Covent Garden Market to check things out and grab some necessities before the weekend. I found this really wicked little salad bar that had fresh pressed juices and cut fruit...

Blushing Beet Salad
I wasn’t sure what to have for lunch today and I felt like making a funky salad. I got a little adventurous with some of the flavors in my fridge and in the end, even I was surprised at how well it turned out!
Ingredients:
1 large beet
1 large purple carrot
1 large yellow carrot
1 small red onion
1 cup baby spinach
I wish I had a spiralizer for things like this, it would make the...

Green Spring Cleaning
The world has been tricked into thinking that the only way to get a sparkling clean kitchen is to wipe and spray every inch of our eating and living surfaces with toxic chemicals. But a few natural ingredients can do the trick for a fraction of the cost to your health and budget!
Toxic Ingredients
To start with, begin looking for and avoiding harsh chemicals in your cleaners. Familiarize...

Conscious Eating
A lot of people ask me how I started eating a high-raw, plant-based diet and the truth is - I am not an over-night convert. I took the very slow and very unsteady approach. I didn’t make any drastic changes because my health was never that drastically poor. I think a lot of people are on the same page when it comes to to their health and fitness; it’s difficult to become fully inspired...

Juice Fast - Day 4
Well here I am at day four of my juice fast! I’m feeling good, besides being a bit tired, but that’s just because I didn’t get enough sleep. My boyfriend is done his juice fast, but I can’t decide if I want to continue on for another day or two… If so, I’m definitely going to need to get more greens & oranges! hehe. :)

Juice Feast Day 2: Breakfast & Lunch
Day two of our juice feast began with a similar concoction as last night’s dinner. I got about ~2 L of juice from 4 lemons, 8 oranges, 6 carrots. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. Orange/Carrot is one of my favorite fruit/veggie combos!
I made another version of my Strawberry Citrus Punch for lunch which was comprised of: 6 oranges, 2 lemons, 3 lbs of strawberries & a handful...

Juice Feasting - Day One!
Today marks the first day of my juice feast! My boyfriend has been struggling a little with his health & fitness goals recently, so he decided to join me as well - which made my heart jump for joy when he told me! :p He went out last night to the wholesaler and brought back this gorgeous bounty of fresh fruits & veggies:
I spent about 2 hours in the kitchen last night with my juicer...

Time for some spring cleaning!
Life is busy in the spring. The weather lately has been keeping us busy; one day sunshine & t-shirts, and the next it’s slush & snowflakes! What gives mother nature? You fiesty thing you. I’m not really complaining, luckily we were graced with some sunlight today even though the temperature is still pretty chilly.
I’ve been making some changes to the site lately, yep -...

Salad Serenity - what makes a salad even...
For vegans, vegetarians, or people who just want to cut back their meat consumption, eating more salad is usually a no-brainer. Everybody likes at least one kind of salad and you can always discover new combinations that make your taste-buds twirl. Salads are the most versatile, customizable & nutritious meals; right up there with fruit smoothies! In my experience though, especially when...

Adventures With EcoPlace
I have some exciting news to share with you guys that has kinda been in the works for a while now. So as you may know, a few months ago I made the decision to move to London, Ontario and take up a career in nutrition. At some point or another I was searching around online for food resources in the London area and I stumbled upon Emily Peat and her business EcoPlace Organics Delivery and the...

The Magic of Maca Powder
I first heard about Maca powder a few months ago from my friend Paige who tweeted about adding it to her fruit smoothies for an added energy boost before a workout. I was curious; for one thing I’m a smoothie lover and I’m always interested in trying out new additions to my morning meal & for another, if Paige was using it, it was probably worth a shot at the very least - the woman...

Hey guys!!
Sorry I haven’t been around much lately, lots of fun things have been happening in my world. As you know, I’ve been looking for an apartment in town and hurray I finally found one I can love! It’s the main floor of a house with a fenced backyard for Chase to roam around in, dishwasher, huge fridge, high ceilings, fireplace & stained glass, walk-in closet… I...
