I began trying to lose weight and get healthy in January 2011. I knew nothing about health or fitness when I began. Since then there have been a lot of ups and downs, and lot of victories but also plenty of setbacks. I began with my weight in the 150’s and I am currently sitting in the 115-120 lb range (I’m 5 feet 4 inches tall). While the weight is a part of why I began, my goals have changed over the months and health and happiness are now my key motivators.
I went from being unable to run for 30 seconds without having an asthma attack, to being almost 100% asthma free. I can now run 5k in an average time of less than 30 minutes and my dog tires out (usually) before I do.
Right now I’m working towards building up a more focused strength and yoga routine to increase my muscle tone and flexibility. Next goals? Run my first 10k race & master handstand once and for all!
