I think I need to start working out in the mornings more. Cardio, at least. I remember this time last year, when I had just completed my first 5k race, I would wake up at six am to start every day with a twenty or thirty minute jog. It was always light and easy. It was fresh, and always a different horizon as the sun peaked over the trees. I miss that. The hardest part was definitely taking those first few steps out the door (especially in the winter) but the experience was never something I regretted once I was done. So I’m picking that back up again, along with a lil stretching and yoga afterwards.
I think this means I’m becoming a morning person again. I may need to buy some more tea… :-\
This was me today after my run today, you can’t tell but I’m pretty stinky. :p
Also I bought myself an ipod recently, and I’m just getting some songs on it and playlists together, right now I’m digging the workout songs on Songza, but if you’ve got any suggestions for morning running toons I’d love to have ‘em! :D
For the morning runners out there, what’s your morning routine like? Any tips for motivating yourself to not hit snooze?
